Great Restauant on the Square in McKinney!

I really wish that the Blue Door were still here. I used to love their Salmon Crusted with Horseradish. My oldest daughter worked there as a waitress and we all miss Das and Shanta so much. The selection of unique, memorable meals in Sherman has definitely been reduced significantly.

In the quest for a new spot, we headed to McKinney to try something different. Our friend, Jared Tredway, had recommended a spot on the square called La Misha. We had an amazing meal filled with Mediterranean delights such as roasted lamb, a wonderful salad and selection of olives, spreads and warm, fresh bread. The food was fabulous, service attentive, and we were treated to a terrific assortment of luscious desserts at the conclusion of our feast. Done with our meal, we strolled the square, window shopped, and listened to some great live music spilling out of another restaurant. Samantha's Portraits!

My youngest daughter wants to be a photographer like Mom when she grows up. It is the highest compliment a parent can receive for a child to want to be like them. We recently took a trip to the Arboretum and Sam borrowed my camera while I took a nap on the grass. It was a perfect day, complete with a picnic from Central Market. These are two of the images that she returned with. I love how we can both look at the same field of tulips and see them completely differently. She is amazingly creative and I can't wait to see what she comes up with next. I want to be a photographer like Sam when I grow up. I'll keep you posted on how that's going. . .

We had a great Girl's Nite Out!

Thanks to all of our friends who came out to support our 3rd Annual Girl's Nite Out event! We had so much fun, ate way too much yummy food and most importantly gathered a lot of wonderful new and gently used clothing for the Women's Crisis Center. Thank you to our artists: Joni Beamish, Hannah Brinker, Carol Davis and Adrienne Howell. Without your creativity to inspire and delight us the world would be a very dull place indeed!
